CRAHD performs weekly bathing water sampling of all Public Beaches from around Memorial Day

through Labor Day.  Bathing water quality is measured by the presence of enterococcal organisms.

These organisms may indicate the presence of potentially harmful bacteria.

CT issues guidelines for bathing water quality standards that are considered unsatisfactory for bathing

Saltwater:      >104 colonies per 100 ml of saltwater

Freshwater:   >235 colonies per 100 ml of freshwater
